
30-second audio commercial for 6 O’clock Gin (Video)
it’s about time…
How do you distil the essence of a premium gin brand and make it sound just as tasty to radio and digital audio listeners?
This was the challenge set to me by 6 O’Clock Gin, a burgeoning independent drinks brand with a strong look and feel in search of a matching sonic identity for their audio campaign.
With just two weeks to air, I worked with the music team at New Noise Audio to create a unique piece of bespoke music designed to evoke a journey through time. Starting on a mysterious note and escalating into an effervescent sense of celebration, the ad examines the very nature of time and how best to spend it… In this case with a nice copa de balon glass with ice and a slice of lemon peel.
The final twist is, of course, the voiceover. Fans of Game of Thrones and Killing Eve will be no strangers to Gemma Whelan, one of the most extraordinary acting talents I’ve ever worked with. She bodied my scripts with a sense of passion and intrigue you just can’t get from a regular voiceover artist.
